Disneyland Paris and the City of Paris.
As a huge Disney fan, I’m like a big kid when it comes to anything Disney. I’ve been to Disneyland Paris and loved every minute of it. And yes, I get very emotional each time I go, who doesn’t? Especially when I see the Sleeping Beauty Castle, also known as the Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant.
From the fun and trills of the rides, such as Tower of Terror, Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Star Tours, Phantom Manor, Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille and Pirates of the Caribbean, to the amazing character meets, extravagant parade and theatre shows and food too, as soon as I step foot into Disneyland Paris, I mesmerised.
My favourite restaurant in Disneyland Paris is the Rainforest Café, a jungle themed restaurant, of which I highly recommend a visit to. And let’s not forget to mention the fabulous merchandise that you can buy, which needs its own suitcase, to get it home safely… well all of mine does anyway.
I can’t wait to go back to Disneyland Paris for the third time next January, and to Florida in 2027.
And of course, you can’t go to Disneyland Paris without visiting the centre of Paris. This beautiful city of love is full of surprises. With a wealth of architectural and cultural heritage, and a wide variety of gourmet food outlets and restaurants, what’s not to love.
It’s the perfect city for that romantic getaway or just to explore the sights.
Barcelona, Catalonia
I just love Barcelona. Barcelona is perfect if you want to experience both the city and the beach. It’s also an ideal location for a pre cruise or post cruise stay, if you are cruising from and back to Barcelona.
The cruise port terminals are at the end of the La Rambla, which is Barcelona's most famous Boulevard that runs through the heart of the city centre. La Rambla is also famous for it’s street performers, including human statues. I’ve been caught out a few times when passing them.
And there’s just so much to do during a stay in Barcelona. When we stayed in Barcelona, we not only visited La Rambla, we visited the Hard Rock Café which was my hubbie’s favourite place, we made good use of the Hop-on and Hop-off bus touring Barcelona at our own pace, we visited Barcelona FC, we spent a couple of hours visiting the famous Sagrada Familia, which is an unfinished masterpiece of Gaudi's, and Park Güell is a must see too, which was my favourite sightseeing location. The views from Park Güell overlooking Barcelona are absolutely stunning.
